Job Description

An employer is seeking a Customer Fulfillment & Logistics Specialist to support customer onboarding, scientific order fulfillment, inventory management, and domestic/international shipping operations. This individual will serve as a critical link between Business Development, R&D, Operations, and customers, ensuring contractual requirements are translated into accurate fulfillment plans and delivered successfully.
This role is ideal for someone with a scientific background who has transitioned into operations, logistics, customer fulfillment, or supply chain within a biotech environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage customer onboarding and fulfillment activities following execution of commercial agreements.
• Review customer contracts and translate study requirements into internal onboarding and fulfillment documentation.
• Partner with Business Development and R&D teams to determine required materials, quantities, and product specifications.
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments through third-party logistics providers and courier services.
• Ensure biological materials are packaged, documented, and shipped according to applicable regulations and customer requirements.
• Track shipments and proactively communicate updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Manage fulfillment inventory and ensure adequate stock of products, packaging materials, branded materials, and shipping supplies.
• Partner with Operations to maintain inventory accuracy and support forecasting efforts.
• Resolve shipping, inventory, and fulfillment issues to ensure successful customer delivery and project closeout.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation throughout the fulfillment lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related scientific discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in biotech operations, customer fulfillment, logistics, supply chain, laboratory operations, or related functions.
• Ability to understand scientific products, biological materials, and study requirements.
• Experience coordinating shipments of biological, regulated, or temperature-sensitive materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret customer agreements and translate requirements into operational actions.
• Experience working cross-functionally with scientific, operations, and commercial teams.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience working in a biotech, gene therapy, cell therapy, CDMO, or life sciences organization.
• Background as a Research Associate, Scientific Research Associate (SRA), Lab Operations Coordinator, or similar scientific role that evolved into operations.
• Familiarity with inventory management, fulfillment systems, and shipping platforms such as World Courier.
• Knowledge of domestic and international biological material shipping requirements.
