Insight Global is seeking a highly motivated and technically adept Sales Engineer to join our growing team in the Los Angeles/ San Diego Area. This role is ideal for a mid-level candidate with at least 6 years of sales OR applications experience in technical products or services, preferably within the semiconductor industry (RF/ Optical applications). Below are a list of responsibilities:
- Develop and manage relationships with direct strategic accounts, focusing on RF and Optical component solutions.
- Support the Regional Sales Manager in executing sales strategies for the territory
- Leverage technical expertise to deliver compelling product presentations and provide customer-facing support.
- Manage the sales process using CRM tools, ensuring opportunities are tracked and forecasts are prepared accurately.
- Engage in lead management and prospecting activities using tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar platforms.
- Travel 20-40% to visit customers within the designated counties.
- Collaborate with internal teams across different time zones, ensuring smooth coordination and communication.
- Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals with both new and existing customers.
- Provide regular feedback to the Regional Sales Manager on market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.

- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a closely related technical field.
- Minimum of 6 years of sales experience in a technical engineering field, with a preference for RF or Optical components
- Experience selling to large government Primes (3+ years)
- Strong analytical skills, experience with Excel, and proficiency in CRM tools for opportunity management.
- Familiar with, have used, or have been trained in the Challenger Sale or a similar sales philosophy.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
- Candidate must be based in LA/San Diego Area, with the ability to travel frequently within the territory.
- Experience creating block-diagrams for technical products.
- Experience working with RF or Optical components and knowledge of relevant markets.
- Prior experience at a semiconductor components company.
- Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar prospecting tools.
- Understanding of proposal development, negotiation processes, and working with geographically dispersed teams.
