Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Secret Senior Embedded Software Engineer to support a large defense contractor fully onsite in San Diego. This role focuses on low‑level embedded software development in C/C++, targeting ARM and AMD processors, with close integration to Xilinx hardware platforms such as Zynq and UltraScale+. The ideal candidate is one with deep experience supporting KG (large radar systems) and KI (cryptographic product form‑factor) development
This person will have hands‑on experience developing, debugging, and optimizing embedded software within integrated development environments, working directly on hardware platforms, and supporting mission‑critical systems used in government, aerospace, and defense environments. This role requires comfort operating across the full stack. From hardware bring‑up through protocol‑level networking, all while collaborating with cross‑functional hardware and systems teams.

Required Skills & Experience
- Active Secret Clearance with SAP eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and 8-10 years of experience in embedded software engineering
- Strong proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems development
- Experience with KI development, including crypto product form‑factor software
- Experience supporting KG development, including large radar systems
- Software development targeting ARM and AMD processors
- Hands‑on experience with Xilinx platforms (preferably Zynq hardware platform or UltraScale+)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- CISSP
- Experience managing and mentoring junior engineers
