We are looking for a skilled Plant Operator to maintain and ensure the continuous operation of all plant equipment, aiming for 100% uptime. Responsibilities include monitoring and adjusting refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning, boilers, ventilating and water heaters, pumps, valves, piping, filters, and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee fire/life safety and mechanical systems (HVAC, chillers, CRAC, CRAH, plumbing, controls).
Manage electrical systems, including emergency backups (lighting, UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, generators, primary switchgear, power distribution, transformers, hot water systems).
Record readings and make necessary adjustments for proper equipment operation.
Respond promptly to alarms and alerts from building management systems.
Analyze system operations, identify problems/malfunctions, and take corrective action (root cause analysis).
Comply with policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe workplace.
Learn and understand the central plant to manage incidents and events that put critical systems at risk.
Handle work order management, including CMMS, vendor management, and customer-facing tickets.
Understand and comply with emergency escalation procedures.
Perform HVAC inspections, rounds, and manage work orders in a campus setting focused on testing and development for a criminal defense site.
