Job Description

The Translational Sciences Group, Translational Pathology Lab in La Jolla, California, is seeking a Scientist to join the Molecular Biology group. As part of our team, the candidate will support and advance our clinical and pre-clinical drug programs. The candidate will provide scientific and technical support and work closely with their manager and team members to generate decision-enabling data for novel drug combination strategies and mechanisms of action. An ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and demonstrate experience with 10X Genomics Spatial Transcriptomics platforms. They will use a variety of techniques including RNA extraction, library generation and image capturing.

Required Skills & Experience

- Proficient in standard molecular biology techniques such as sample preparation, nucleic acid amplification and purification (RNA/DNA), and qPCR.
- Experience performing complex multi-step experiments with detailed and diligent attention to planning, organization, hands-on technique, and record keeping.
- Knowledge of QC metrics, interpretation, and demonstrated use of approaches for assessing the quality of samples and libraries for bulkRNA and spatial profiling
- Hands-on 10X Genomics spatial transcriptomics experience
- Excellent organization skills and ability to organize and prioritize work to meet timelines and deliverables.
- BS/MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field and 3+ years of full-time, hands-on molecular biology experience in an academic or industrial setting.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience in tissue processing and handling
- Spatial Transcriptomics experience
