Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer 3, for a leading provider of complex composites, assemblies and tooling in the aerospace industry.
In this role, you will develop engineering estimates for new business opportunities, create tooling methodologies and industrialization plans, and design innovative manufacturing processes while solving complex production challenges. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in fiber-reinforced composite material processing, aerospace part manufacturing techniques, composite material performance characteristics, and the equipment used to manufacture and test composite components. Responsibilities include developing manufacturing methods and tooling specifications, preparing engineering BOMs, estimating labor hours, writing technical content for proposals, and managing projects from concept through execution. This position is on-site in San Diego, CA, working a 9/80 schedule.

Required Skills & Experience
BA In Mechanical Engineering or Related Field
Aerospace or Composite Materials experience
2D/3D modeling and CAD/CAM Machining Knowledge to be able to converse with the Machining division and relay information to clients properly
Ability to read various schematics and blueprints
Experience with filament winding, compression molding, RTM (resin transfer molding), thermoplastic fabrication, CNC machining of composites and core forming and machining
Able to be on-site in San Diego, CA
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Government contracting or DOD experience
Project Management Experience (They currently use MS Project for their PM tools)
Lean/Six Sigma Certification
