Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer 2/3 for a leading provider of complex composites, assemblies and tooling in the aerospace industry. This is a direct hire role, onsite in San Diego, working a 9/80 schedule. Responsibilities include:
· Develop composite manufacturing methods, process flows, and tooling specifications for new development and production programs
· Create engineering bills of materials (BOMs) and estimate labor hours using historical data, time studies, and parametric estimating techniques
· Develop engineering and cost estimates to support new business pursuits and proposal efforts
· Write technical content for proposals, including manufacturing approaches and industrialization strategies.
· Create tooling methodologies and industrialization plans to support scalable, repeatable production.
· Design and optimize manufacturing processes to address complex production challenges
· Manage engineering projects from concept through execution, ensuring scope, schedule, and cost objectives are met.

Required Skills & Experience

BA In Mechanical Engineering or Related Field
Aerospace and Composite Materials experience
2D/3D modeling and CAD/CAM Machining Knowledge to be able to converse with the Machining division and relay information to clients properly (client uses Creo system)
Demonstrated competency in the processing of composite materials, including hand lay-up and assembly
Ability to read various schematics and blueprints
In-depth knowledge of GD&T
Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to create clear and succinct presentations and reports to communicate processes and project results with internal and external customers
Able to be on-site in San Diego, CA
