Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire a Controls System Engineer for a prominent semiconductor client in San Diego. The Controls System Engineer will join an agile-based team in which, depending on which phase of the product cycle the team is in, will primarily design and simulate requirements and associated test cases using Simulink and MATLAB. The Engineer will collaborate with firmware and software engineers to validate their code, use test benches to further test towards requirements, and ultimately produce findings for the Integration team.

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Controls

* 1-3 years of experience developing code using Simulink & MATLAB for products with focus in feedback control (NOT automation control)

* 1-3 years of experience implementing Simulink models on FPGA

* 1-3 years of experience enabling automated code (auto coding) for Simulink

* Strong communication skills. Self-motivated, independent, self-starter/takes initiative

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Python development experience

Previous roles in complex industries such as automotive, aerospace, robotics, defense, HVAC, semiconductor, etc.
