A global leader in the medical technology industry is seeking an Associate Director of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) & Cloud Operations to provide strategic leadership across its next-generation cloud platforms. This role will play a critical part in establishing and maturing the company’s SRE practice, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of cloud-hosted SaaS applications.
The Associate Director will partner closely with product, engineering, and IT leadership to define technical vision, guide AWS SaaS adoption, and drive best practices in observability, incident management, and automation. This is a highly visible role that requires both executive presence and deep technical credibility—able to influence stakeholders at the director/VP level while also providing technical direction to engineering teams. The leader will begin with a small team (including a manager and dedicated engineers) but will be responsible for shaping the practice and expanding its impact across the organization.

Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in SRE, Cloud Operations, or DevOps in complex, cloud-native environments.
- Proven leadership at the Director level (or higher) with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide strategic direction.
- Deep AWS expertise with direct experience supporting and scaling SaaS applications in production environments.
- Track record of designing or leading SRE/Cloud Operations practices, including observability, incident response, and reliability frameworks (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets).
- Experience managing and mentoring teams in cloud-native, engineering-heavy environments.
- Strong technical background in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) and cloud automation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to collaborate across product, engineering, and IT leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, medical technology, or life sciences.
- Familiarity with Azure or multi-cloud environments in addition to AWS.
- Proven success leading small-to-medium teams through organizational growth or transformation.
- Strong financial acumen with ability to manage cloud cost optimization and budgeting.
