Job Description

Employee will provide technical guidance instruction and practical shipboard instruction to U.S. Navy Ships Force to enhance their ability to diagnose problems and perform preventative and corrective maintenance. This person will provide equipment/machinery operator and maintenance training to all Ships Force personnel per training visit in order to upgrade Ships Force ability to diagnose problem, operate equipment or machinery in accordance with established procedure. This person will assist Ship's Force with the assessment, renovation, and performing necessary adjustments and repairs and testing of components and equipment in accordance with (IAW) technical manuals.

Assess, troubleshoot and assist ships force in repair of the following systems and equipment:
1) Air Conditioning Systems
2) Food Service Preparation Equipment
3) Refrigeration Plants/Units
4) Ship Service Refrigeration Systems
5) Scullery Equipment and Dishwashing Machines
6) Laundry Equipment Washers, Dryers and Presses
7) Plastic Waste Processors and Storage Systems
8) Electrical and Mechanical Systems related to Food
Service Systems/Equipment
9) Grease Interceptor Hoods

Required Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of experience in the operations, repair, and maintenance of AC&R (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) equipment and systems on U.S. Naval Ships
- Ability to train others on operations, repairs, and maintenance techniques/processes of AC&R equipment
- Strong interpersonal communication skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Prior Navy experience as an engineman, machinist mate, or other auxiliary support staff functions
