Job Description

An employer is seeking a Remote UX Researcher in or around the Sacramento/San Francisco Bay Area to join an incredible team leading a major public health technology initiative. This individual will be responsible for conducting user research as part of the user experience design team to drive forward the UX/CX strategy for these products. This individual will work closely with both internal and customer stakeholders to provide feedback and collaboration based on that customer input and surveying. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in user experience design with an emphasis on the research side who is also interested in projects that have a wide and measurable public benefit.



Additional responsibilties include:

Conduct extensive Human Centered Design research, including interviews, surveys and ethnographic research

Carry out testing and analysis to confirm as part of the effort to gather insights

Take research findings and synthesize results into digestable insights and opportunities for the team to review

Serve as a liason between the customer and designers on the team

Provide insights and critiques of wireframe designs based on user feedback and research analysis

Maintain multiple work streams across all products in design/development

Work within JIRA to manage/organize design backlog

mentor junior members of the team around UX/CX design and research

Travel to Sacramento once a month

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of experience as a HCD UX Researcher with a strong portfolio showcasing design skills.

Experience planning and conducting user research studies, including usability testing, interviews, surveys, and ethnographic research.

Experience creating user personas, journey maps, service blueprints and other design artifacts to guide product development.

Ability to collaborate with designers and product managers to translate research findings into actionable design recommendations. Champion user-centered design principles and advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle.

Experience working in a fast-paced, agile development environment.

Ability to travel 3-4 days a month to Sacramento.

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, HCD, or a related field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Excellent communication skills, experience working across internal and customer stakeholders

Experience researching data driven dashboards and reporting.
