Job Description

An employer is seeking a User Experience Researcher to join an incredible team leading a major public health technology initiative. This individual will be responsible for conducting user research as part of the user experience design team to drive forward the UX/UI strategy across a number of large scope products. This individual will work closely with users as well as customer/internal stakeholders to conduct ethnographic research to inform the user journey in a human centered design approach. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, will have a strong understanding of accessibility standards, and has proven expertise in consulting and/or supporting B2B2C products.

Additional responsibilties include:
Conduct extensive Human Centered Design research, including interviews, surveys, usability tests, and focus groups.
Carry out testing and analysis to gather qualitative and quantitative data and feedback
Take research findings and synthesize results into digestable insights and opportunities
Work closely with users and product stakeholders on research methodology and design approach
Provide key insights and critiques of wireframe designs based on user feedback and research analysis
Maintain multiple work streams across all products in design/development
Leverage JIRA to manage/organize design backlog
Collaborate with designers and product managers to translate research findings into actionable design recommendations.
Champion user-centered design principles and advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle.
Travel monthly to Sacramento for multi-day collocation
Rate: $104,000 - $141,440 annual

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of experience as a UX Researcher.
Strong experience and proficiency with human centered design research approaches
Experience planning and conducting user research studies, including usability testing, interviews, surveys, and ethnographic research.
Previous experience in one or more of the following: SaaS product research, Consulting, B2B2C product research
Excellent communication skills: Able to lead discussions with users and product stakeholders, collaborate cross-functionally across different teams, communicate efficiently with decisionmakers
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced agile environment.
Ability to travel up to 3-4 days a month to Sacramento.
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, HCD, or a related field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience researching data driven dashboards and reporting.
West coast applicants strongly preferred
