Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Claims Manager for one of our nonprofit clients privately funded and publicly managed, that anchors the California market for residential earthquake insurance. Our client is the largest provider of residential earthquake insurance, issuing the clear majority of residential earthquake insurance policies in California. The ideal candidate will be local to Sacramento, CA, but we are open to someone who is based in California. This will be a long-term contract, operating very similarly to a full-time role with benefits, and paid time off.
As a Claims Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the development, distribution, and promotion of our clients’ training materials for claim adjusters, engineers and other supporting personnel of our client’s participating insurers. This includes evaluating and helping to design and implement new training materials and opportunities. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing an outreach and marketing program to Participating Insurers (PIs) as well as claim adjusting and engineering organizations to promote claim adjusting guidelines and training materials. You will work with the CICO to design and conduct the annual claim conference and other meetings that our client may hold with the claim liaisons of its PIs, as well as claim adjusting and engineering organizations.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Work with the CICO to conduct the annual PI catastrophe response plan solicitation and evaluation, including the organization individual review sessions with each PI claim liaison to discuss plan improvements.
- Work with the CICO to prioritize and undertake earthquake claim-related projects, bringing together the necessary subject matter experts, determine appropriate responses, and design and implement responding projects
- Serve as a member of our client’s earthquake response team and the Claims/Finance functional unit with specific responsibilities assigned by the functional unit leaders both pre- and post-event. This includes participation in earthquake response planning, training and exercises, and post-earthquake response.
- Responsible for managing the Catastrophe Response and Resiliency Analyst and Claims Training Consultant.

Required Skills & Experience

- 7+ years of experience with claims management
- Experience with Property and Catastrophe claims (wildfire, hurricane, earthquake, etc.)
- 2+ years of management experience in claims
- Experience creating training materials or being a dedicated trainer for property claims

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with large volume and complex claims (thousands of claims)
- Experience on a customer experience claims team
