Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a to hire a Functional QA Tester to support a State of WA eligibility platform modernization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating functionality and design requirements, writing and executing test cases, and ensuring seamless application interfaces. This role is 80% manual testing with a minor component of about 20% automation.
• Analyze functional and design requirements to develop comprehensive test scenarios.
• Write, execute, and document test cases for front-end Java applications.
• Perform manual testing (80%) and support automated testing efforts (20%).
• Conduct retesting and regression testing based on defect fixes.
• Validate business rules and logic with a strong understanding of healthcare eligibility and Medicaid domains.
• Interface testing between applications, including handshake API validations.
• Investigate backend data using mainframe databases and assess table-level integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and compliance with business requirements.
pay range: 35-45/hr

Required Skills & Experience
• 3–5 years of experience in manual software testing.
• Strong understanding of business rules and workflows.
• Experience with mainframe databases
• Experience with Java-based front-end applications.
• Familiarity with application interfacing and API handshake mechanisms (UI controls).
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Domain knowledge in Medicaid or broader healthcare systems.
• Exposure to automated testing tools and frameworks.
• Experience in testing application interfaces and backend data validation.
