Job Description
An Insight Global client is a growing construction services company preparing to expand into a larger facility by the end of the year. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Controller to lead our finance department and support our continued growth. This role offers significant upward mobility and the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage daily customer invoicing using QuickBooks.
• Handle contract and service billing, including progress billing and retention.
• Prepare and file conditional waivers and pre-liens.
• Utilize billing platforms such as Procore, BuildingConnected, and AvidPay.
• Ensure compliance with warranties and notary requirements.
• Oversee general office functions and support administrative needs.
• Communicate effectively with clients and vendors via phone and email.
• Run and manage payroll processes.
• Interpret and apply union bylaws and prevailing wage scale codes.
• Ensure compliance with labor regulations and wage standards.
• Conduct and support annual audits.
• Apply US GAAP principles in financial reporting.
• CPA certification is a plus but not required.

Required Skills & Experience
- 1-3 years of experience as a Controller or similar in a construction industry
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other billing software's
- Ability to file pre-liens and conditional waivers
- Experience running payroll and interpreting union bylaws
- Knowledge of prevailing wage codes/scales
Familiarity with US GAAP and audit processes
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with secondary billing platforms (e.g., Procore, BuildingConnected, AvidPay)
- CPA certification
Notary certification
