Job Description

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

The Patient Registration & Admissions Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring a smooth, supportive experience for patients and their families from the moment they enter the hospital. This role supports the admitting team, collaborates closely with clinical staff, and manages essential documentation required for patient intake and financial assistance. The ideal candidate is articulate, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Assist patients and families with completing required admission forms, including financial assistance summaries and consent documents.
- Obtain signatures and ensure all documentation is accurate and properly filed.
- Communicate with case managers, nurses, and other floor staff to coordinate patient needs and updates.
- Reach out to patients’ families as needed to gather information or provide updates.
- Support the admitting team with registration tasks and workflow coordination.
- Maintain a high level of customer service, professionalism, and confidentiality throughout all interactions.

Required Skills & Experience

- Experience in patient registration, admissions, or a related healthcare administrative role
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly with diverse populations
- Articulate, professional verbal and written communication
- Reliable, efficient, and able to manage multiple tasks at once
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- COVID‑19 and Flu vaccination compliance
- Ability to work on‑site in a hospital environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with hospital registration systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech)
- Familiarity with financial assistance programs or insurance verification
- Prior experience collaborating with case managers or clinical teams
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills
- Previous work in a high‑volume admissions or emergency department setting
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
