An employer is looking for a Patient Access Rep in the Emergency Room setting. This individual will be cross trained on Patient Access activities for patients throughout the Medical Center in different areas/pods of the Emergency Services area. Patient Access Representatives facilitate a positive patient experience by managing tasks such as insurance verification, benefits determination, and financial clearance. They handle responsibilities across Patient Access, Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Financial Counseling, and more while maintaining all HIPAA compliance requirements. Strong social skills are essential for effective communication with patients and clinical staff in a demanding healthcare environment. This will be on site and must work every other weekend. There are two evening shifts open 3-11:30pm and one night shift open 11pm-7:30am and one morning shift from 7am-3:30pm.

-1+ years experience in registration/patient access
-Proficient with EMR software
-Experience with insurance verifications/eligibility (IPAs, PPOs, HMOs, Medicare, etc)
-HS Diploma or GED equivalent
-Experience in the Emergency Department or Urgent Care setting
-Proficient with Epic Software
