Job Description
Design, develop, validate, and integrate end-to-end electrical hardware test solutions to support product development, testing, and manufacturing teams across Tesla (power electronics, motors, powertrain, battery, etc.)
Ownership of PCB electronics and electrical sub-systems – specifications, design, prototyping, validation testing, and system integration
Develop electrical schematics, BOM, harness drawings, system diagrams, etc.
Cross-functional collaboration with Mechanical, Software, Firmware, Regulatory, Testing, Manufacturing, Build and Operations teams
Test equipment bring-up, commissioning, root cause analysis and troubleshooting field issues at various Tesla locations globally
Create documentation for test equipment certification, operation, and maintenance
Coach and mentor other Engineers, Interns, and Technicians to develop their technical skills and experience

Required Skills & Experience
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Hands-on hardware design, testing, and debugging experience in power electronics (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC converters) and low-power analog, digital circuits
Experience in PCB layout with signal integrity, noise, and EMI considerations (Altium experience preferred)
Experience with modeling and circuit simulation tools such as MATLAB-Simulink, LTspice, etc.
Experience with embedded programming (microcontrollers, DSP, etc.) and digital communication protocols (CAN, RS-485, SPI, I2C, etc.)
Strong knowledge of dynos, motors, drives, power systems, and switchgear components
Good understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM), FMEA tools/process, and quality control
Experience with laboratory test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, high-voltage differential probes, current probes, power analyzers, data acquisition modules, etc.
Experience with test automation and data analysis in NI LabVIEW, Python, etc.
Experience with enterprise tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Office, etc.
