Sales & Use Tax Lead

We are hiring a senior Sales & Use Tax professional to embed real‑world tax judgment into its product. This role sits inside the tax domain team and works closely with product and engineering to ensure multi‑state tax workflows reflect how tax teams and tax authorities actually operate.

-Act as a senior Sales & Use Tax domain expert embedded with the product team.
-Work hands‑on with large data sets related to multi‑state sales & use tax.
-Provide feedback to engineers on how tax logic behaves in real life.
-Participate in customer‑facing conversations when tax credibility is needed.

-6–10 years of Sales & Use Tax experience.
-Exposure to multi‑state tax (not single‑state only).
-Experience across industry, Big 4, and/or government.
-Understanding of Franchise Tax Board / state tax authority perspective.
-Comfortable leading work independently and facing clients.
-Travel up to 1 week per month if not local to NYC or the bay area.

-Technology‑savvy with a builder mentality.
-Able to work cross‑functionally with product, engineering, and business teams.
-Startup mindset; not afraid of ambiguity or change.
