Job Description
The HR Compliance & Employment role ensures that all HR policies and practices follow local, state, and federal laws. This role leads HR compliance efforts, supports hospital accreditation, and helps reduce HR‑related risks. They work closely with HR leaders and hospital departments to keep policies up to date and ensure the organization is always audit‑ and survey‑ready.
What You Will Do
Make sure HR policies and practices comply with city, county, state, and federal laws
Lead HR compliance efforts tied to:
Hospital and lab accreditation
The Joint Commission, California Department of Health, and other regulators
Serve as the HR lead during audits, surveys, and investigations
Prepare and submit required HR documentation during compliance reviews
Manage and improve HR policies, including:
Policy updates
Approval workflows
Documentation standards
Train HR staff and hospital leaders on HR compliance requirements
Support survey and audit readiness across HR
Identify HR‑related risks and lead improvement plans to reduce them
Help ensure safe, compliant environments for employees, patients, and visitors
Support recruiting and onboarding to ensure proper staffing levels

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Strong experience working in hospital or healthcare compliance
- Deep knowledge of:
HR compliance laws and regulations; Local, state, and federal labor laws; Regulatory agencies and accreditation standards
- Understanding of HR operations, systems, and processes
- Experience with: Wage and hour laws ; Meal and rest breaks; FLSA ; Employee & Labor Relations (ELR); AWS / alternate workforce
- Background in organizational, personnel, and compliance management
