Job Description

This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining information security and research security programs across the university’s research enterprise. The RISO collaborates with university research administration, IT security, compliance, and academic departments to manage cybersecurity risks, safeguard research data, and uphold federal and sponsor requirements related to research security.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in information security, research administration, or research security compliance
- Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity and information protection frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC, NIST CSF)
- Experience implementing security programs within academic or research environments, including health-related research
- Ability to interpret and apply federal research security requirements (e.g., NSPM-33, CUI handling, cybersecurity standards)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with advising on foreign security risks
