Job Description

Day to Day Responsibilities
• Manage electric infrastructure projects from intake through close out, often under urgent or emergency timelines
• Support M&C work by scoping jobs, initiating work quickly, and driving execution without following traditional planned project processes
• Serve as a bridge between field engineering and project management, occasionally performing light project engineering work
• Build and maintain SAP project profiles, including order creation, tracking, and close out
• Work closely with asset engineers, maintenance crews, construction crews, and test crews
• Manage project schedules, forecasting, budgets, funding requests, and change orders
• Review accruals and invoices and support financial tracking
• Coordinate and manage vendors and contracts
• Track and execute work across assigned regions (North, South, or Bay Central)
• Operate in a fast flow environment, with deeper involvement in technical scoping than traditional PM roles

Required Skills & Experience

Must Have Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering
• 5+ years of experience supporting electric utility projects (Substation, Transmission, Distribution, or Generation)
• Strong electrical fundamentals (no time for ramp up on basic electricity concepts)
• Prior experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or Project Manager in the utility industry
• Substation experience strongly preferred
• Experience supporting maintenance, construction, and test crews in the field
• Proven ability to manage projects from cradle to grave (scope, execution, close out)
• Comfortable managing a high project volume (50+ concurrent jobs – faster pace)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across engineers, field crews, and leadership
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly across assigned service territories
