Job Description

Our client, a global technology company, is building out the design and engineering function supporting their hyperscale data center program. This role sits inside the Design & Engineering group and supports the team of program managers driving design delivery from concept through issued-for-construction.
This is a hybrid seat. Roughly two thirds of the job is program coordination across design packages and the partners who produce them. The other third is standing up the reporting and operating rhythm for a team that is growing fast and does not yet have that infrastructure in place.
The team is remote and distributed. There is no onsite requirement. East Coast time zone is preferred for meeting coverage.
What you will do
Design program coordination
Program manage reference design packages end to end, tracking scope, schedule, and cost through each design milestone
Coordinate design reviews with architecture and engineering partners, drive issues to closure, and keep packages moving toward release
Support the handoff of completed design packages to downstream construction and development partners
Maintain program artifacts and keep documentation current as designs iterate
Change management
Track technical requirement changes and broader engineering changes that impact active design work
Own the change trackers and make sure updates land with the right teams on the right projects
Reporting and metrics
Build and maintain the team's dashboards and recurring reporting
Own a weekly team newsletter, from pulling the inputs through publishing
Track portfolio health, cycle times, and process efficiency so leadership has real visibility
Operations and process
Document how the team works today, find the bottlenecks, and propose repeatable fixes
Write standard operating procedures the whole team can adopt
Schedule and run alignment syncs across internal engineering teams and external design partners

Required Skills & Experience

5 to 10 years in technical program management, project management, or design management
Direct data center design experience: core and shell, mechanical and electrical systems, fit out, and above-the-rack infrastructure
Experience taking design through the standard milestone progression (30 / 60 / 90 / IFC)
Track record working with architecture and engineering firms as a coordination partner
Comfortable building your own dashboards and reports. You do not need to be a data engineer, but you should be the person who builds the tracker rather than the person who asks for one
Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related technical field

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Front end planning or pre-construction background
Experience with bridging documents or reference design programs
Familiarity with Google Workspace tools, Alteryx, Looker Studio, or similar reporting platforms
Exposure to construction or design management platforms such as e-Builder or QuickBase
Engineering background before moving into program management
