We are seeking a highly skilled Power Validation Engineer to join our customized team responsible for building and validating our own silicon modules. This role requires a deep understanding of power electronics fundamentals, closed-loop control, and power distribution network analysis. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using lab tools and equipment, as well as design tools and lab equipment setup, to perform physical measurements and ensure the reliability of our power systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Power Validation: Implement datacenter system power validation requirements and permutations of alternates.
- System Integration: Perform validation of system power integration and management, including telemetry and protection of HGX/DGX products.
- Collaboration: Work closely with power design, power validation, system design, and system validation teams, as well as vendors, to root cause bugs and issues.
- Debugging: Manage and execute system power bring-up, triage, and debug.
- Design and Simulation: Design and simulate power solution test platforms.
- Vendor Interaction: Collaborate with power vendors to resolve issues and provide feasibility analysis, present options, and review ODM power solutions.
- Feedback and Improvement: Provide feedback and improvements to future product and power solution roadmaps.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Custom Silicon Module Work: Work on a module for custom silicon, characterizing the behavior of power reels and ensuring the board is ready for silicon integration.
- Physical Measurements: Use oscilloscopes and other equipment to create artificial loads and monitor system responses, identifying and documenting anomalies.
- Power System Design: Design power systems for new silicon and validate the board's readiness.
- Characterization: Characterize each power reel and measure loads per power reel, ensuring the system's reliability.

- Technical Skills: Strong foundation in power electronics, closed-loop control, and power distribution network analysis.
- Lab Proficiency: Experience with lab tools and equipment, including oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
- Design Tools: Proficiency with design tools and lab equipment setup.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a relevant field.
- Location: Ability to work in Fremont, CA, 3-5 days a week depending on workload.
- Debugging Skills: Strong debugging skills to identify and resolve issues in power systems.
