Senior Technical Artist

We are seeking a Senior Technical Artist to support and modernize our character rigging and animation pipelines. This role sits at the intersection of character technology, tooling, and automation, with a strong focus on transforming legacy rigging workflows into scalable, AI‑agentic systems.

The ideal candidate brings deep understanding of character rigging fundamentals, strong Python development experience, and a problem‑solving mindset to re‑architect outdated processes into intelligent, automated workflows. You will work closely with artists, engineers, and technical partners to build tools and pipelines that empower content creators and improve production efficiency.

• Design, build, and maintain character rigging and animation pipelines, with a focus on scalability and automation
• Modernize legacy character workflows by converting them into AI‑agentic systems and tools
• Partner with artists, engineers, and technical leads to identify workflow gaps and translate them into robust technical solutions
• Develop and maintain Python‑based tools to support character rigging, asset processing, and pipeline automation
• Support USD‑based workflows, ensuring smooth integration across tools and pipelines
• Troubleshoot complex technical and artistic challenges related to character rigs and pipeline behavior
• Contribute to pipeline architecture decisions with a focus on usability for content creators
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical partners

• Strong character rigging background with a solid understanding of rigging principles and character‑specific requirements
• 4–5+ years of professional Python development experience, ideally within DCC or pipeline environments
• Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and redesign inefficient workflows
• Experience designing or supporting tooling and pipelines for content creation
• Familiarity with USD (Universal Scene Description) and how it fits into modern pipelines
• Experience collaborating on cross‑functional teams (artists, engineers, production)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback

• Experience with real‑time pipelines or engines
• Familiarity with Houdini, especially in a pipeline or procedural context
• Experience with AI‑driven or agentic workflows, automation frameworks, or intelligent tooling
• Knowledge of real‑time graphics or performance considerations
• Experience with version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc.)
• C++ experience
