Job Description
An information management client with a line of business in entertainment services is seeking two highly motivated and detail-oriented Archival Collections Assistants to join our team for a 3-month project onsite at the Client warehouse in Sun Valley, CA. In this role, you will process, catalog, preserve, and rehouse archival assets, ensuring the proper integration of assets into the permanent collection and maintaining accurate tracking within the archive database. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging archive professional to gain hands-on experience in a major corporate/studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
● Collection Processing: Assist with the systematic processing of archival assets. Create accurate item-level catalog records and verify asset metadata to ensure accurate tracking within the database.
● Preservation & Rehousing: Rehouse archival materials into preservation-grade storage containers, ensuring all items and containers are correctly labeled and documented. They assets they work with are likely props and costuming.
● Workflow Integrity: Follow established archive workflows and protocols throughout the processing lifecycle. ● Collaboration: Work effectively within a team environment, reporting progress to Iron Mountain and the Client.

Required Skills & Experience
-Education: Currently enrolled in or a graduate of an ALA-accredited Master’s degree program in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or a related archival studies degree.
-Experience: Demonstrated work experience in an archive, museum or similar collection-based environment.
-Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications and comfort learning new systems.
-Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and organizational skills, with the ability to follow precise directions and handling protocols.
-Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and the ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. The role is about 50% sitting, 50% on their feet.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Previous experience working in a studio archive or entertainment-related archival environment.
-Experience with handling fragile objects or textile based materials.
-Familiarity with collection management systems or industry-standard cataloging tools.
-Worked in a studio or studio archive, been in entertainment or museum environment
-Cataloging tools proficiency: FileMaker, Open Text, Asset Hub
