A semiconductor testing company in Lake Forest, CA is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager. Advantest Test Solutions works closely with customers to understand the specific semiconductor IC test workflow requirements, then leverages industry leading building blocks to ensure that each solution is fine-tuned to those requirements. The company has an exciting line of massively parallel System Level Test (SLT) systems that support the semiconductor and electronics industry around the world.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Architect and design complex test systems for testing leading edge semiconductor devices
-Communicate complex problems and synthesize requirements to the engineering teams.
-Work with cross-functional engineering teams on development and validation of all associated sub-assemblies.
-Identify project responsibilities by determining the phases and elements of the project.
-Develop and distribute a description, timeline of the project, cost estimates and performance standards.
-Clearly identify risks and mitigation plans and communicate internally across the organization and externally to customers.
-Oversee, coordinate and drive all technical aspects of the project utilizing the companys Product Development Process, through project coordination meetings and other forms of communication.
-Serves as technical consultant for disposition, corrective actions, and coordination with cross-functional groups to identify/implement solutions and drive strategic improvements.
-Work with cross functional teams including thermal, mechanical, software and electrical engineers to develop validation, production and reliability tests to assure safe and satisfactory product performance.
-Develop production release procedures and plans for the test system with clearly defined success criteria and collaborate with the production team to release the product to manufacturing.
-Analyze test and reliability data for quick problem resolution and drive corrective actions.
-Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards (SEMI S2/S8, F47, CE, etc).
-Support technical proposal preparation and new business development efforts in co-ordination with the business team and cross functional team.
- Review customer requirements and work with engineering teams to develop project plan and objectives.
-Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected customer requirements.
-Develop new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort with focus on DFM and DFT to minimize production costs.
-Lead the development or modification of system components' designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation.
-Train, coach and mentor other team members.
-Perform technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
-Develop complex statements of work, metrics, schedules and budgets.
-Salary Range 150,000-170,000

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred).
- Experience with testing equipment, capital equipment, and automation
- Semiconductor background
- 10+years experience as technical program manager
- Experience working cross functional in a fast paced environment- time to market is very key
- Discipline is mechanical and electrical and sub group is thermal- understanding all of 3
- Experience with process control and/of product development processes
- Experience with data analysis software in support of yield reporting and problem solving with tools such as Extensio, JMP or equivalent required.
- Experience with Gant charts, pert, scheduling, risk mitigation
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
- This position is an on-site role, 5 days a week in Lake Forest, CA office.
Prior experience in developing semiconductor production testers (ATEs) or characterization testers or system level testers is a plus.
-Experience with robotic / mechanical systems/ handlers that are used to test semiconductor devices / modules in an automated fashion
