Job Description
An employer in the insurance industry is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join the team and sit fully-remote. The Senior Software Engineer will operate within a traditional agile environment, actively participating in daily stand-up ceremonies and regular scrum rituals, including bi-weekly refinement sessions and periodic reviews. This individual will be responsible for working on customer-facing products, with a strong emphasis on automation for policy creation and document generation. Throughout the course of each day, the Senior Software Engineer will tackle assigned tasks, ensuring progress and completion in alignment with sprint goals. The role demands a hands-on approach to both front-end and back-end development, with approximately 75% of time dedicated to coding activities that range from feature development to automating testing processes, particularly within Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and resource stacks in the cloud. The engineer will primarily work in Azure, leveraging modern frameworks and technologies to deliver robust REST services in C#. The remaining time will be spent in scrum ceremonies and meetings, collaborating with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and drive project success. The Senior Software Engineer will routinely examine underlying systems to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure seamless integration across platforms. The technical focus will be split, with roughly 30% on front-end and 70% on back-end and data projects.
