Job Description

An employer in the insurance industry is looking for a Product Manager to join the remote team. This person will operate at the program level, partnering closely with both business and technical stakeholders to identify key program initiatives and translate them into clear direction for Product Owners and scrum teams. This individual will serve as the bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring strategic initiatives are aligned with organizational goals and delivered through scalable product solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting policy administration platforms and policy lifecycle processes within the insurance industry. This individual will manage the product backlog by capturing all requests in a centralized repository, establishing rank order and priority of items as agreed upon with stakeholders. They will play a critical role in requirements gathering by working directly with internal and external customers to understand user personas, workflows, and business processes in order to define new features and enhance existing functionality, while drafting and refining backlog items that meet the team's definition of ready. Additionally, they will proactively identify opportunities for product enhancements, evaluate business value and associated risks, and partner with leadership to develop and execute a product roadmap that improves operational efficiency and user experience. At a high level, this person will be responsible for roadmap creation, backlog prioritization, feature development and refinement, rollout planning, dependency management, and cross-functional coordination, while also supporting product demonstrations, training, documentation, change management efforts, and ongoing troubleshooting to drive adoption, continuous improvement, and adherence to agile best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

3-6+ years of experience as a Product Manager who has led product strategy at the program level
Experience working within the insurance industry, with an understanding of policy administration and policy lifecycle processes; claims-focused experience is not a fit
Experience leading and influencing multiple Product Owners within a program or product portfolio structure
Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar Agile project management tools
Experience defining product vision and translating business needs into epics, features, and prioritized backlogs, while partnering with Product Owners, Architects, and Engineering teams to refine requirements
Experience working in a scaled Agile environment
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions, drive alignment, and lead organizational change across all levels of the business

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

A technical background (software dev, etc.)
Change management experience or transformation type project experience
