Job Description

Our client is seeking an HCM Benefits Administrator to independently manage and administer employee benefits programs, including health & welfare, retirement (401k), and leave of absence. This role partners closely with employees, vendors, Payroll, and HR to ensure accurate benefits administration and compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities
Administer employee benefits programs (health & welfare, voluntary benefits, and/or 401(k))
Serve as Tier II support for escalated employee benefits issues
Act as liaison between employees and third‑party benefits vendors
Advise employees on eligibility, coverage, and benefit options across multiple states
Audit benefit changes and enrollment updates in HRIS and payroll systems
Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, PPACA, FMLA, and applicable laws
Support Open Enrollment planning, coordination, and communication
Maintain benefits records and complete required legal and state documentation
Recommend updates and improvements to benefits websites and vendor tools

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience administering health and welfare benefits
Strong knowledge of ERISA, DOL, IRS, HIPAA, PPACA, and FMLA
Experience supporting 401(k) or retirement programs
Ability to independently resolve complex benefits issues
Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Experience working with HRIS platforms (Oracle, Workday, PeopleSoft, ADP, or similar)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Associate’s degree or higher in HR, Business, or related field
HR Generalist background
Experience supporting multi‑state employee populations
