Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical/Firmware Test Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and maintenance of embedded firmware, test systems, and verification tools for medical device products. In this role, you will partner closely with electrical, software, systems, quality, and manufacturing engineering teams to develop and implement hardware and software solutions that enable product development, design verification, manufacturing testing, and system integration activities. Responsibilities include developing firmware for microcontroller-based test equipment, creating automated test systems and fixtures, designing electrical circuits and interface hardware, supporting embedded communication protocols, and investigating product and test system issues through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. The engineer will also contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, FMEA activities, and documentation efforts, including requirements, specifications, test protocols, traceability, and technical reports. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in embedded firmware development, electrical engineering, test automation, and hands-on debugging, along with experience improving test coverage, reliability, and engineering efficiency. Experience within regulated industries such as medical devices, aerospace, or automotive is highly preferred, as is familiarity with quality systems and compliant product development processes.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline. (Not mechanical engineering)
4+ years of engineering experience with embedded systems, firmware development, electrical design, and test system development.
Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
Experience developing firmware for microcontroller-based systems.
Experience designing, debugging, and troubleshooting electrical and embedded systems.
Experience developing automated test equipment, test fixtures, or engineering test systems.
Familiarity with laboratory test equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, multimeters, and protocol analyzers.
Strong problem-solving and root cause investigation skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience within medical devices, aerospace, or other regulated industries.
Familiarity with IEC 62304 software lifecycle processes.
Familiarity with IEC 60601, IEC 14708, ISO 14971, or related medical device standards.
