Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Project Surveyor to join an engineering consulting firm as a production lead within the surveying team, working under the guidance of a Project Manager, Senior Surveyor, or Survey Discipline Lead. This role oversees survey analysts and technicians, manages subconsultants, and ensures timely delivery of assigned tasks. Key responsibilities include:
Team Leadership & Coordination:
Direct survey analysts and technicians on project tasks.
Coordinate efforts with survey subconsultants.
Technical Responsibilities:
Prepare survey base maps, boundary/topographic surveys, design surveys, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
Perform CAD drafting using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Conduct survey research and analysis, including review of record maps, assessor’s maps, title reports, and historical documents.
Draft legal descriptions and plats.
Project Support & Quality Assurance:
Provide survey support to design engineering teams and other departments.
Assist in developing scopes and estimates for survey proposals.
Perform quality control checks on CAD files, survey data, and deliverables.
Support Contract City Surveyors with map and document plan checks.
Documentation & Workflow Management:
Maintain organized digital project files, logs, and workflow documentation.

Required Skills & Experience
• 3–5+ years of survey office experience, including CAD, survey research, and survey mapping ((Subdivision mapping, full boundary establishment, Records of Survey, ALTA/NSPS surveys, legal descriptions, right-of-way engineering, and/or municipal projects)
• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) certification, or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Bluebeam (preferred).
