Job Description

Insight Global is hiring for a Retail Accounting Manager with an emphasis on Revenue for an industry leading personal lines insurance distributer. The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in overseeing all aspects of retail revenue accounting (excluding Premium Finance) and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP. This position is ideal for a hands‑on leader who thrives in the details, works closely with accountants on day‑to‑day activities, and models best practices while developing the team. This person will report directly to the Director of Accounting and work closely with the CFO. This position will be fully remote and ideally sits in California or Texas.



Responsibilities:
• Ensure the revenue accounting team completes all month‑end close deliverables accurately and on schedule.
• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations prepared in accordance with GAAP, ensuring strong documentation and support.
• Oversee preparation and distribution of supplemental management reporting, including acquisition‑related financials, business initiative reporting, and retail trend analyses.
• Analyze revenue accounts, including budget‑to‑actual variances by state or legal entity, as well as month‑over‑month and year‑over‑year changes.
• Act as a hands‑on leader who works directly in the details, supports staff accountants, and models strong accounting discipline.
• Teach and mentor team members through real‑time coaching, review feedback, and collaborative problem‑solving.
• Contribute to building a best‑in‑class financial accounting organization that supports long‑term revenue growth and operational excellence.
• Lead and execute ad hoc accounting and finance projects, including deep‑dive analyses into specific revenue streams or business lines.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and support scalable growth.
• Support external auditors during annual audits and interim reviews related to revenue.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure financial completeness, accuracy, and alignment across the organization.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of Managerial or Supervisory experience
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, CPA or MBA highly desirable
• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP accounting
• Ability to motivate, teach and lead teams
• Obsessed with developing new processes and improving existing processes
• Prior experience leading revenue accounting for a multi-location company with annual revenue exceeding $500M

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Advanced excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience working at companies with multiple locations and entities (e.g. retail)
• Experience with MAS500 (Sage), NetSuite, Acumatica, SAP Concur, OneStream or other equivalent systems strongly preferred
