Job Description

The Product Insights & Beta Trials organization drives global Alpha, Beta, and Delta testing programs for all upcoming Ring hardware, firmware, software, and mobile app experiences. As a Principal Program Manager, you will lead end to end strategy, execution, and optimization of high visibility trial programs that directly shape the future of Ring devices. You will own complex, multi program portfolios, influence senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Design, QA, Ops, and Logistics, and build mechanisms that raise the quality bar for every pre release product at Ring.
This role requires deep experience across hardware + software environments, global program leadership, strong technical fluency, and a proven ability to drive insights that meaningfully impact product decisions at scale.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Program Leadership
• Own the end to end strategy for large scale Alpha/Beta/Delta trials across multiple hardware and software product lines.
• Define long range program roadmaps, success metrics, execution standards, and quality KPIs for the Product Insights & Trials organization.
• Influence VP level stakeholders and partner teams through data driven recommendations, program health reviews, and insights synthesized from large global tester populations.
• Build scalable mechanisms that improve tester engagement, data capture quality, feature validation, and defect identification.
Cross Functional Ownership
• Lead complex cross org initiatives spanning Product Management, TPM, Device Engineering, Firmware, App, QA, Data Science, CX, Logistics, and Prototype Security teams.
• Establish alignment across teams by driving clear communication plans, risk mitigation strategies, program launch readiness, and cross functional decision making.
• Ensure program design accounts for customer experience, market conditions, historical trends, technical constraints, and operational feasibility.
Technical Expertise & Insights
• Drive technical signal accuracy across trials by correlating backend metrics, product telemetry, device performance data, survey results, defect patterns, and tester feedback.
• Identify systemic issues, build root cause narratives, and propose product or process changes that prevent recurrence across future releases.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to validate pre release firmware and app builds and ensure readiness before global deployment.
Scale & Operational Excellence
• Oversee multi program portfolios involving 500–1500+ internal Amazon employee testers per trial, ensuring coverage across personas, geographies, and use cases.
• Architect global tester facing processes including recruitment, selection, onboarding, engagement, triage workflows, feedback pipelines, and result reporting.
• Create and enforce operational guardrails aligning to Trade Compliance, Prototype Security, and global logistics constraints.
• Build automation, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to improve trial efficiency, data quality, and organizational visibility.
Executive Reporting & Communication
• Deliver weekly executive level updates for assigned programs, including:
o Trial performance metrics
o Tester engagement trends
o Risk/issue narratives
o Product readiness assessments
o Recommendations for next steps
• Write and present documents for Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Planning, Launch Readiness, and product health reviews.
Portfolio Management & Scaling
• Manage simultaneous global trials across multiple product categories while driving consistency between programs.
• Build new frameworks for tester recruitment, logistics coordination, device distribution timelines, and program launch synchronization.
• Mentor, guide, and elevate other PMs, Analysts, and cross functional partners through best practices, tooling optimization, and strategic thinking.
