Job Description

The Capital Project Manager will oversee the mechanical engineering aspects of the design and construction of two new student housing facilities. This role requires a dynamic leader with extensive experience in mechanical engineering, project management, and higher education facilities. The successful candidate will ensure that the projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position pays up to $67 hourly.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical engineering design and planning of two new student housing facilities.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Perform detailed constructability reviews to identify potential issues and ensure that mechanical systems are practical and feasible.
- Evaluate mechanical plans and specifications to ensure they align with project goals and regulatory requirements.
- Provide recommendations for design modifications to improve constructability and reduce costs.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
- Oversee the selection and management of mechanical engineering consultants.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and university standards.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that arise.
- Prepare and present project updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative project environment.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical
- Engineering or a related field.
- Professional licensure in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering design and project management, with a focus on higher education facilities.
- At least 5 years of experience as a project engineer within the construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale capital projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.
