Job Description

Migrate and rebuild existing mechanical designs into the organization's internal CAD system (SolidWorks or CATIA), ensuring full design integrity and compliance with internal standards
Create, format, and maintain 2D engineering drawings on company letterhead for distribution to global machine builders and fabricators
Develop and consolidate a single, unified engineering package that can be replicated and scaled across multiple manufacturing programs
Design and refine components of a small industrial mobile robot platform, including structural, mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies
Collaborate with internal factory engineering and automation teams to align design outputs with production line requirements and operational goals
Interface with external vendors and fabricators to ensure design packages are accurate, complete, and manufacturable
Support design reviews, redlines, and revision control processes to maintain a clean and organized engineering record
Identify and resolve design gaps or inconsistencies discovered during the in-housing and documentation process

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience with demonstrated ability to be immediately productive in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in SolidWorks or CATIA for 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation
Experience working with fabrication processes, steel manufacturing, or complex mechanical assemblies
Experience designing or supporting electromechanical systems and assemblies
Experience creating and managing complete engineering packages intended for distribution to multiple external vendors or fabricators
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and external partners

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards for manufacturing and fabrication
