A fast-moving startup within a billion-dollar semiconductor manufacturing company is seeking a Buyer to temporarily fill in for an employee on leave. This role requires someone who is highly analytical and quick-thinking, capable of making sound decisions that support the unique needs of a smaller, agile team. Strong communication skills are essential, as youll be expected to collaborate with other team leads, share best practices, and confidently contribute your perspective to guide procurement strategies.
Review and analyze purchase requisitions
Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning, and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner
Process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers
Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity; creates and maintains bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprise wide systems Participate in maximizing the procurement teams' changes, part parameters; quote table maintenance, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information
Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities (e.g., materials, components, equipment, and services)
Monitor the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value
Interacts closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues
Work with management to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability

2-5 yrs experience as a buyer or someone who has communicated with suppliers or a lead inventory person or HR
Microsoft office suite
ERP system experience (They work with Shop Keeper)
Experience in the semiconductor industry or other technical industry is preferred
Basic understanding of commodity market indicators and technical data
Six Sigma certification, 8D training, APICS certification
Prior experience managing the commercial and tactical aspects of supply chain requirements
