Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Vice President & General Counsel to join our client in the casino and gaming industry for a full-time, onsite role based in Elk Grove, California.

The Vice President & General Counsel will lead all legal and regulatory matters across our clients gaming operations in Elk Grove, CA. This full-time, onsite role will oversee compliance with federal, state, and tribal gaming laws, employment law, vendor contracts, tort claims, liquor licensing, and joint ventures, with respect to Tribal sovereignty. In addition to providing legal advice, the VP & General Counsel will also advise senior leadership on policy, risk, and strategic business decisions.

Essential Job Functions/Duties:
• Learns and applies knowledge of the Tribe’s sovereignty, jurisdiction, and authority in all legal matters.
• Interprets laws and gaming regulations; advises leadership on compliance and legal updates.
• Represents the company in litigation, joint venture disputes, and regulatory proceedings.
• Drafts and manages contracts, leases, NDAs, employment agreements, and other legal documents.
• Oversees legal aspects of joint ventures, including fiduciary duties, risk, and compliance.
• Liaise with government agencies, external counsel, and business partners.
• Leads internal legal team and manages outside counsel.
• Enforces company policies and ensures regulatory, health, and safety compliance.
• Supports employment law matters and internal audits.
• Oversees retail contracting, sustainability, and social/product compliance.
• Maintains professional conduct and performs additional duties as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from accredited law school.
• Active California State Bar membership.
• 10+ years in gaming law, employment law, and labor relations; 5+ years in leadership.
• Experience in casino/gaming legal environments.
• Proven success in joint venture representation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Tribal law experience is a plus.
