Job Description

An employer is looking for a Secret or TS Space System Engineer onsite in El Segundo, CA to support an exciting DOD space sensing program. The Space Systems engineer will lead an SE&I team to plan and execute SE&I processes for space programs, including requirements analysis, architecture design, integration, testing, verification, and transition. They will plan and coordinate SE&I activities across the SE&I team and broader stakeholder community, including the Federally Funded Research and Developmental Centers (FFRDCs), development contractors, and external stakeholders. They will support environmental monitoring - weather, meteorology etc.
Pay rate: $85-115/hr depending on experience

Required Skills & Experience

- Active Secret or TS clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science
- 10+ years of experience as a systems engineer within DoD space
- 5+ years of experience with leading a team performing on large-scale national security satellite programs
- Knowledge of DOD Acquisition, ICDs, technical specs etc

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Degree or background in meteorology/ environmental monitoring
- TS/SCI clearance
- Masters degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or CS
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification, including ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP Certification
- Experience leading a team performing SE&I tasks on Space-Based Environmental Monitoring (SBEM) systems
