Job Description

An employer is looking for a Secret or TS Space System Engineer onsite in El Segundo, CA to support an exciting DOD space program. The Space Systems engineer will serve as an advisor to the chief engineer and orchestrate the development of a system (encompassing hardware and software) through its entire life cycle, from requirements determination through operations and system retirement. They will act as the lead systems integrator ensuring the space, ground, and crypto segments are integrated successfully to meet the customer's needs as well managing the engineering team itself
Pay rate: $85-110/hr depending on experience

Required Skills & Experience

- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science
- 10+ years of experience as a systems engineer within DoD space
- Experience performing systems engineering for satellite systems or ground systems
- Experience using a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or Digital Engineering approach to manage system definitions - Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Cameo, or SysML

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- 2+ years of experience with military SATCOM systems or space acquisition
- Experience with a software program utilizing Agile methodologies
- Experience working with software factories or DecvSecOps pipelines
