Job Description
One of our aerospace clients is seeking a Guidance, Navigation & Controls (GNC) Engineer III/IV to support the design, development, testing, and delivery of spacecraft GNC subsystems for national security space missions. The GNC team is responsible for mission analysis, flight software development, sensor and actuator selection, system verification, satellite integration and testing, and on-orbit operations support.
At the Lead/Senior level, this individual will serve as the Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for GNC subsystem delivery and provide technical leadership across one or more satellite programs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver spacecraft GNC subsystems including hardware, software, and analysis products
- Perform guidance, navigation, and control design, modeling, and analysis
- Develop and verify flight control software and algorithms
- Support sensor and actuator selection for spacecraft missions
- Manage GNC technical scope within program cost and schedule requirements
- Identify, track, and mitigate technical risks
- Interface with systems engineering, program management, and other spacecraft subsystem teams
- Support satellite integration & test (I&T) activities and on-orbit operations
- Lead and mentor GNC engineers by decomposing and delegating technical work
- Report technical progress and status to leadership teams

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline
- 5+ years of related experience (Level III)
- 3+ years of experience with GNC fundamentals
- 1+ year of spacecraft or satellite systems experience
- Experience collaborating across engineering disciplines and program leadership
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Satellite Integration & Test (I&T) experience
- On-orbit operations experience
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- Strong understanding of spacecraft dynamics, kinematics, and control systems
- Experience performing GNC analyses using MATLAB, - Simulink, Python, or internally developed tools
- Experience with project execution, cost, and schedule management
- Ability to decompose complex technical challenges into executable work packages
- Strong background in classical and modern control theory
- Experience conducting system-level trade studies, architecture development, and systems integration activities
