Job Description

An aerospace company is seeking an Advanced Test Engineer to join the team to support military engine testing at EAFB. The Engineer is responsible for the readiness, setup, execution, and technical leadership of commercial and military Development Engine Test campaigns. Acting as the Test Director, this role oversees full engine test operations, from engine receipt and teardown through rebuild, instrumentation, test execution, and data review. This position is hands-on and technically deep, requiring a strong understanding of engine operation, diagnostics, and test environments. The role works closely with engine mechanics, data systems teams, evaluation engineering, systems engineering, and military personnel to ensure tests are executed safely, accurately, and in compliance with military and customer requirements. This is not a production or manufacturing role, it is focused on operating, testing, diagnosing, and understanding engines in a development and test environment. Responsibilities include:
• Own test readiness, setup, execution, inspections, and post-test deliverables
• Coordinate and execute full engine testing
• Ensure test campaigns stay on track with schedules, safety requirements, and military directives.
• Receive engines and support engine teardown, rebuild, and reassembly as required for testing.
• Oversee instrumentation installation, test enabling hardware, and facility integration.
• Operate and monitor engines in test cells, understanding:
o Engine vibration behavior
o Core speeds
o Engine system interactions
o Engine-to-aircraft integration considerations
• Review and analyze test data to assess engine performance and identify anomalies.
• Apply deep engine knowledge to troubleshoot issues and support corrective actions.
• Develop test objectives and solutions that impact short-term execution and longer-term program goals.
• Contribute to the design, upgrade, and implementation of new and existing test systems.
• Lead and influence the test operations team during complex test campaigns.
