Insight Global is seeking a Payroll Team Lead to work as a full-time employee of our financial client in the East Bay. This individual will be part of a small payroll team of two, overseeing one other team member focused on payroll operations, within a broader team of six. The role involves managing approximately 100 payroll-related calls per month, handling tickets, and resolving access issues within UKG. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll-specific regulatory compliance or tax law, along with experience using HRIS platformsUKG is preferred. This person should bring strong digital and technical proficiency, with the ability to multitask across responsibilities such as employment verifications and occasional reference checks. In addition to overseeing daily operations and auditing processed payroll for accuracy and compliance, the Payroll Team Lead will perform general ledger (GL) reconciliations related to payroll, mentor and support team members, and maintain a strong focus on compliance and continuous process improvement.

4+ years of current experience in payroll field, with strong digital payroll experience
2+ years in BI report writing
Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems (UltiPro/UKG preferred)
Have advanced computer proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Windows
Understanding of payroll regulatory compliance and tax laws.
Background in larger, digitally mature organizations preferred.
BA/BS degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or other related business degrees
