Job Description

An employer in Bay Area, California is seeking a Manger of Energy Management to join their team. This person will

- Wear multiple hats across operations, energy, and facilities
- Support the opening of approximately 25–40 new stores per quarter
- Manage the end‑to‑end process to ensure stores open on time, including:
- Coordinating with internal teams and external partners
Tracking milestones and resolving delays
- Track and manage energy and utility contracts across the portfolio
- Oversee ongoing energy‑saving programs, which require detailed data analysis and performance tracking
- Identify and propose new energy‑saving initiatives to reduce operating costs
- Ensure utility accounts are properly set up, billed, and paid so services are not interrupted (e.g., preventing power shutoffs)

Other responsibilities include:
• Manage performance of external partners for utility bill payment, energy management, and BMS system/network maintenance.
• Lead coordinator team in the timely, professional, and efficient delivery of responsibilities
• Work with internal and external constituents, including utility companies in the set-up, delivery and planning of utilities. Similarly work to integrate data and processes from external partners into internal systems.

• Work closely with all constituents, within and outside department, on invoice processing, periodic expense, and capital closing as well as budget and forecast planning.

• Effectively and professionally support service escalations from store field team and other constituents.
• Work closely with the Director and other areas in support of the company's sustainability (CSR) goals and reporting requirements.
• Deliver timely and cost-effective repairs of BMS related equipment.
• Identify expense and operational improvements and partner as appropriate to gain approval to implement new ideas.
• Provide meaningful periodic and ad hoc reporting for all services and costs related to responsibilities.
• Maintain a strong awareness of the overall retail energy industry, including regulatory, commodity and conservation environments that can be risks or opportunities for the company.
• Support overall Store Facilities department as part of management team on special assignments, emergency response, and by being on-call for store emergencies on a rotating weekly basis with the other managers on the team.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5-10 years of experience analyzing energy management systems for corporate or retail environments
- Bachelor's Degree
- Tableau or Power BI experience
