Job Description

Key responsibilities
• Technical leadership: Guide and mentor a team of full-stack developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. Lead technical design discussions, conduct code reviews, and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software.
• Full-stack development: Lead the design and development of end-to-end features, from backend services to frontend interfaces, using Java Spring Boot, Microservices, and AngularJS.
• Architecture and design: Define the architecture for scalable, distributed systems, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices and enterprise standards.
• Integration and APIs: Drive the design and implementation of APIs and integration solutions, leveraging MuleSoft for enterprise connectivity and data flow.
• Rules engine management: Implement and manage business rules using a rules engine (e.g., Drools or similar) to support dynamic business logic and decision-making processes.
• Database management: Oversee database design, optimization, and management for relational databases (SQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL).
• Agile collaboration: Partner with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver high-quality solutions.
• DevOps and deployment: Own the application lifecycle, from development through deployment and monitoring, in a CI/CD environment.

Required Skills & Experience

Required qualifications
• Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack software development, with a minimum of 2 years in a technical leadership or lead engineer role.
• Backend skills: Expert-level proficiency in Java, the Spring Boot framework, and developing scalable microservices.
• Frontend skills: Extensive experience with AngularJS, including a deep understanding of its ecosystem and best practices.
• Integration expertise: Hands-on experience with MuleSoft for building and managing APIs and integrations.
• Rules engine: Proven experience with rules engine implementation, such as Drools, for creating and managing complex business logic.
• Database proficiency: Strong experience with relational databases and writing complex SQL queries.
• Architecture: Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and design patterns.
• Leadership skills: Excellent communication, mentorship, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to lead and motivate development teams.
Preferred qualifications
• Alternative frontend: Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly ReactJS.
• Identity and access management: Familiarity with Okta or similar identity management and security protocols.
• Domain knowledge: Experience working within the retail domain, understanding omnichannel strategies, and retail-specific systems.
• Cloud experience: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, including containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
