A life sciences company in the San Gabriel Valley is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to help build out their data science function from the ground up. This is a pivotal role supporting clinical research efforts as the company integrates advanced analytics into their operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience creating data science platforms or environments, preferably in a life sciences or clinical research setting. Proficiency in R or Python for data modeling and statistical analysis is essential. This role will be 7080% focused on development work, including designing and implementing data models, building data science infrastructure, and developing ETL processes using SSIS and SQL Server stored procedures. A strong understanding of Snowflake data warehouse architecture is also important, as the company is leveraging it as part of their modern data stack. 6-8 years of experience building Data Science/Analytics models (using Python or R): This will constitute 80% of the role.
Data Warehousing knowledge: Ability to build Data Science/Analytics models by reading data from a data warehouse, modifying existing data warehouses for better analytics, or building new ones from scratch. Knowledge of Fact tables and Dimension tables is essential.
SQL Server experience: All data is stored on SQL Server.
SQL query writing experience using T-SQL: Proficiency in writing T-SQL queries.
Writing/troubleshooting SQL Server stored procedures experience: Involvement in writing stored procedures for data manipulation.
ETL development using SSIS or SQL Server Stored Procedures experience: Ability to write ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or SQL Server stored procedures.
Visualization tools: Must have experience with some visualization tools and be able to learn Power BI. The role may involve creating Power BI reports once a month.
Experience in FDA regulated drug or healthcare companies desired.
MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Experience: Candidates should be eager to learn SSIS. Proficiency in SQL Server stored procedures is essential for performing ETL development tasks.
Power BI: Experience with any visualization tool is required, and the ability to learn Power BI is highly desirable.
