• Establish and maintain hardware quality metrics, standards, and specifications for IoT and video products, including defining acceptable failure rates, cosmetic standards, and performance benchmarks.
• Create long-term plans for quality improvements, including adoption of new testing technologies, process enhancements, and quality systems.
• Implement, manage, and continuously improve the QMS (e.g., ISO 9001), documenting all quality-related procedures from component inspection to final product testing.
• Analyze quality data (factory yields, field failures, RMAs, customer feedback) and use SPC and analytics tools to drive actionable insights and report KPIs.
• Manage quality for products in the field, including leading failure analysis (FA) on customer returns (RMAs) and managing component changes or obsolescence issues.
• Define NPI quality benchmarks, establishing and maintaining hardware quality metrics and performance standards for the NPI phase of IoT and video products, including gold standards for cosmetic, functional, and reliability benchmarks.
• Aggregate and analyze quality data from factory yields, pilot runs, and early-adopter customer feedback to identify trends and provide actionable insights to Engineering and Product teams.
• Lead formal risk assessment activities, including DFMEA and PFMEA, to proactively identify and mitigate quality risks in new designs or manufacturing processes.
• Own the RMA feedback loop, analyzing field returns and customer-reported issues to perform root cause analysis and ensure findings are integrated into engineering cycles for product improvements and future hardware iterations.
• Implement and drive quality processes aligned with ISO 9001 for the transition from prototype to mass production, including documenting inspection procedures and validation protocols for new components.
• Oversee execution of NPI test plans, including EVT, DVT, and PVT phases, and coordinate environmental stress testing, mechanical drop/vibration tests, and characterization of critical IoT components.
• Serve as the primary technical quality interface with overseas contract manufacturers, driving yield improvement initiatives and conducting audits to ensure factory processes align with defined quality standards.
• Transform complex quality data into clear, concise KPIs and status reports for leadership, highlighting risks to launch timelines or product reliability.
