Insight Global is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Officer to work for a large environmental construction company in the Bay Area. The Health & Safety Officer is responsible for field support of the HSE program to ensure compliance with applicable mandates, requirements, standards, and regulations. This role involves coordinating the planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining various health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. Daily tasks include maintaining training and certification files, performing and entering Safe Work Observations (SWO), and managing the subcontractors. Additionally, they prepare project-related HSE documents, manage data associated with near misses and incidents, and support the HSE manager. The role also involves recordkeeping, managing subcontractor HSE qualification documents, and assisting with the transition to digital HSE forms and trend reports. This role is located in Oakland, CA, working on a large demo and slab project.

Bachelors Degree or 5+ years of health and safety experience
4+ years of experience within an engineering and intensive environmental construction acting environmental arenas
Knowledge of the Health, Safety and Environmental construction industry
Knowledge of the Health, Safety and Environmental construction industry prior experience conducting periodic safety meetings in the field and quarterly meetings
Prior experience preparing HSE documents including project HASPs and HSE field binders
Promotes data collection associated with: near nisses, incidents, stop works and safe work observations supporting the HSE manager
OSHA 40 - hr HAZWOPER or HAZWOPER Refresher
Title 17 Lead CDPH
BAAQMD Rule 8
Valid driver license and transportation
