Job Description
The Electric Vehicle Performance Test Technician supports testing and development activities for hybrid and electric vehicles across proving grounds, public roads, and the Chino facility. This role is responsible for preparing vehicles for testing, installing measurement equipment, supporting engineers during performance and propulsion tests, and maintaining a fleet of 40–50 test vehicles. The technician will also participate in multi‑week travel assignments for cold‑weather, high‑altitude, and durability testing. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams.

Required Skills & Experience
Automotive technician experience — 6–10 years preferred, dealership background strongly valued
Hybrid or EV experience — at least 1 year working with hybrid or electric vehicles
Safety protocol knowledge — understanding of high‑voltage safety procedures
Ability to prepare vehicles for testing, including component replacement and system checks
Comfortable driving test vehicles and following engineer‑directed test procedures
Willingness to travel 15–20% (2‑week trips, 5–6 times per year)
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience supporting engineers in development or validation environments
Familiarity with data acquisition systems and measurement tools
Experience with cold‑weather, high‑altitude, or durability testing
Strong organizational skills for fleet tracking and shop upkeep
Ability to troubleshoot vehicle systems during testing
Flexibility for overtime during travel assignments
