Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Infrastructure Engineer to join our Carlsbad, CA team. This role requires proven expertise across Ubuntu, Red Hat, and Windows environments, enterprise networking (Cisco, Juniper), and hands-on experience supporting classified and air-gapped systems. The engineer will design, implement, and secure infrastructure aligned with DoD Collateral requirements, DISA STIGs, NIST RMF, and FIPS compliance standards while enabling mission-critical operations.
Essential Functions
· Engineer and administer Linux (Ubuntu/Red Hat) and Windows Server environments.
· Configure and manage Cisco and Juniper networking equipment in classified/air-gapped networks to meet 32 CFR Part 117 - National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Defense Security Service Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM), Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, and Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI) requirements.
· Deploy and optimize VMware ESXi, including bare metal to virtualization migrations.
· Manage and maintain NetApp storage solutions for classified data environments.
· Implement and support Splunk for logging, monitoring, and compliance reporting.
· Review electronic and manual audit logs and investigate any anomalies or security incidents.
· Conduct Nessus vulnerability scans, apply DISA STIGs, and validate FIPS compliance.
· Configure and utilize Ivanti for endpoint management, patch automation, and compliance enforcement.
· Support NIST RMF accreditation activities including documentation, control validation, and audits.
· Provide Tier III support for escalated issues and lead troubleshooting efforts.
· Coordinate with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Facility Security Officer (FSO) on system security compliance.
· A current and active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance post-hire is required

Required Skills & Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience and a minimum of 4 years of experience in IT systems administration with a focus on security.
· Active Secret clearance is required.
· Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and security compliance.
· Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and associated hardware platforms.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
· Strong communication and documentation skills.
· Strong understanding of network infrastructure and protocols.
· Experience with virtualization technologies and containerization.
· Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework and its application in securing IT systems.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
· Previous experience with RMF as Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) or Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)
· Experience with tools such as ACAS (Nessus), STIGViewer, SCAP, and Splunk.
· Experience as a Linux System Administrator
· Experience with NISPOM, DAAPM, JSIG, ICD
· Network+, CCNA, CISSP, RHCSA Certifications
· 6 years direct and relevant experience with Information Security and Cyber Intelligence.
· Experience in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
· 2 years direct experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
8570\8140 IAM Level 1, or higher, compliant certification (Security+)
